Vulcanization Process Engineer
Location: Western Kentucky (onsite)
Type: Permanent · Full time
An automotive parts manufacturer is hiring an engineer to own its rubber molding and curing process end to end. You will take processes from first trials through PPAP and into steady production, with full ownership from day one rather than a support seat.
What you'll do
Set, document and validate cure parameters: temperature, pressure, cure time, injection and transfer timing, venting and flash control
Lead process trials, Run@Rate and capability studies, and launch readiness reviews
Own process flows, PFMEAs, control plans, work instructions and reaction plans
Solve curing, dimensional, durability, short-shot and flash problems with structured methods
Work across product engineering, quality, tooling, maintenance, production, suppliers and customers
Train operators and technicians on process controls and spotting defects
What you bring
Bachelor's in mechanical, chemical, manufacturing, materials, polymer or industrial engineering
5+ years in manufacturing; rubber molding or vulcanization in automotive strongly preferred
Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans and SPC
A track record launching new processes, molds, tooling or production equipment
Able to turn process data into clear, controlled technical standards
Nice to have: Injection and transfer molding experience.
