Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Location: Huntington, WV area (onsite)

Type: Permanent · Full time · Rotating shifts

An industrial equipment and service company has two openings for Mechanical Maintenance Technicians working on rolling mill equipment at a steel facility. Both are direct hire with benefits and steady, long-term work. Expect hot, physical, skilled mechanical work and the chance to learn heavy mill equipment inside out.

What you'll do

• Change work rolls and backup rolls, coordinating crane lifts for heavy components

• Inspect and replace roll chocks and bearings

• Check gearbox lubrication and maintain seals

• Align couplings and shafts, and maintain conveyors and table rolls

• Support hydraulic cylinder inspections and general PM on mill entry and exit equipment and coilers

What you bring

• Heavy industrial mechanical maintenance: large rotating equipment, bearing changes, gearbox service

• Millwright background or matching skills in precision alignment, bearing installation and shaft fitting

• Overhead crane coordination and basic rigging

• Ability to read mechanical drawings and assembly schematics

• Steel, aluminum, paper mill or heavy industrial experience strongly preferred

• Comfort with rotating shifts and physical work, plus reliable transportation to a site outside Huntington

Nice to have: Roll change experience (call it out).
