Manager, Restaurant Technology Implementation
About Tarro
Our vision
Tarro is building the future of restaurant infrastructure. The U.S. restaurant industry is a trillion-dollar market, but it remains relatively underserved by technology. Running a restaurant comes with a never-ending list of operational work, and many owners spend most of their day on what they have to do rather than what they want to do. We envision a future where they can delegate that work to Tarro and focus on what they love doing.
Restaurant owners want more orders, better margins, and fewer operational headaches. Giving them software is only part of the answer. Our ecosystem brings phone ordering, online ordering, delivery, point of sale, payments, and marketing into one vertically integrated operation. We combine software, AI, and human operations so independent restaurants can hand that work to us end to end.
Using Tarro should feel like having experienced operators, engineers, and marketers working for your restaurant. Our job is to turn that expertise into services owners can rely on, without having to build those teams themselves.
Our traction
Thousands of restaurants have entrusted Tarro with their success. Since 2020, we’ve processed $3 billion in restaurant orders, helped those restaurants serve more than 20 million consumers, and taken an estimated 3 million hours of work off their teams’ hands. And we’re still early in our journey.
Our team
We’re a lean team with top talent from OpenAI, Meta, Google, Tesla, Square, Stripe, Shopify, and Citadel. We’re scrappy builders who love to roll up our sleeves and get into the details of improving a restaurant’s operations. Many of us regularly work in restaurants to experience firsthand what our users deal with.
We move quickly, keep process light, and expect high standards of craft. Our leaders stay hands-on, and our teams have the autonomy to make decisions and the responsibility to see them through.
At Tarro, product judgment and technical execution belong together. You’ll be trusted to understand the restaurant’s problem, decide how to solve it, and carry the solution through to something people use every day. If you want to build products restaurant owners depend on, we’d love to work with you.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a technically minded leader who can both run an operation and build the systems that make it better.
The Restaurant Technology Implementation team makes Tarro’s technology work reliably in real restaurants. From hardware deployment and onboarding to ongoing technical support, the team closes the gap between the products we ship and the experience restaurant owners have. Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will lead approximately 15 people across Malaysia, the Philippines, and the US.
We already have a wide range of hardware in restaurants, including POS devices, payment terminals, routers, mini servers, and VoIP equipment, and that footprint will only grow over time. Every restaurant has a different physical setup, network, and way of operating. You will help the team navigate that increasing complexity and turn it into a dependable experience that restaurant owners can trust.
This role combines technical problem-solving, product judgment, and direct people leadership. You will start close to the day-to-day operation, learning where restaurants struggle and where the team spends too much time on manual work. Your mandate is to turn those lessons into better tooling, automation, and ways of working, so the team can support more restaurants and increasingly complex technology without manual effort growing at the same rate.
What You’ll Do
Shape what Restaurant Technology Implementation looks like in two years. You will set the direction for the function, decide which problems matter most, and figure out what the team needs to build before the business outgrows what currently exists. You will not be handed a roadmap. You are expected to create one.
Lead the charge into new territory. Tarro already has a wide range of hardware in restaurants, including POS devices, payment terminals, routers, and mini servers. That footprint will only grow, bringing more complex setups and new challenges for the team to solve. You will shape how we deploy, monitor, and support that hardware, building the tools and processes the team needs to keep the restaurant experience reliable as complexity increases.
Build a team that grows with you. You will lead a group of 10 to 15 specialists and team leads, give them meaningful ownership, and invest in developing them into stronger, more independent operators. The best leaders here do not just manage their team. They leave it better than they found it.
Find smarter ways to scale. As Tarro adds more restaurants and more products, the answer is never just adding more people. You will look for the leverage points that make the team more effective, rethink workflows that no longer fit, and build processes that multiply output without multiplying headcount.
Be a connector across the business. Some of the best work at Tarro happens at the intersections. You will build close working relationships with Engineering, Product, Client Success, and Onboarding teams, bringing the ground-level perspective of Restaurant Technology Implementation into conversations that shape how the whole company moves forward.
Lead by example. The team looks to you to set the standard, not just the agenda. How you show up during quality audits, tough client situations, and high-pressure moments is what defines the culture of the team over time.

Fluent in Mandarin and English, spoken and written
Has a genuine passion for developing people.
Comfortable setting direction for an operations function, knowing which problems deserve the most attention and when to bring in the right people to work together

Bonus Points
Background in consulting, strategy, or a high-growth technology company

What You’ll Get
Real ownership. This is your function to run and to shape. The decisions you make here will be felt by tens of thousands of restaurants for years.
The startup experience without the startup risk. Tarro has been profitable for nearly a decade. You get the challenge of building something new inside a company that has already proven it works.
A bigger role in two years than the one you are stepping into today. New products, new markets, and a fast-growing restaurant base mean the scope of this function will expand significantly. The person who builds it well will grow with it.
Competitive compensation. Salary commensurate with talent.
How We Work
This role reports to the VP of Engineering. We value autonomy. We will give you context and goals, and trust you to figure out how to get there. That said, you will not be alone. You will have peers to collaborate with and leadership that is accessible when you need input.
We are not looking for someone who needs detailed direction on every decision. But we are also not throwing you into the deep end without support.
Tarro is committed to hiring the best team to empower small businesses to thrive. We believe that a diverse workforce is paramount to our success. We welcome talent from all backgrounds including but not limited to race, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, nationality, religion, veteran status, political affiliation, and disability.
