Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Huntington, WV area (onsite)
Type: Permanent · Full time · Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A steel producer is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to keep its production equipment running. You'll be one of the first people called when something goes down. A good fit for someone with a few years in who likes solving mechanical problems under pressure.
What you'll do
Service roller tables, gearboxes, descalers, coilers, shears, pumps, conveyors and hydraulics
Diagnose breakdowns fast and lead root cause work so they don't come back
Complete scheduled PM, daily inspections and precision alignments
Cut, fit and weld (MIG, TIG, stick, stainless) to build or repair parts
Log work orders and parts use in the CMMS
Follow PPE and LOTO rules, and stop work when conditions aren't safe
What you bring
1 to 4 years of mechanical maintenance in industrial, manufacturing or military settings (steel strongly preferred)
Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, drives and alignment
Welding and fabrication skills
Ability to read mechanical schematics and blueprints
Availability for planned and unplanned overtime
Fitness for heat, noise, ladders, heights and heavy lifting
Nice to have: Technical certificate or degree in maintenance or industrial technology, forklift or overhead crane experience, hands-on CMMS use.
